MSC Cruises 2019/2020 South Africa

MSC Cruises operates by far the most number of local cruises in South Africa; with most cruises operating from Durban to Portuguese Island in Mozambique; but also cruises from Cape Town and cruises to Pomene (Mozambique), Reunion, Mauritius as well an epic long repositioning cruise between Durban and Italy. The company is well established in South Africa, and has a slick and efficient operation in the country. Like all cruise lines it has a myriad of specials running at any one time.

Ultimately, cruising is about creating memories. Here's a couple of lovely examples; first a classic photo just after sunset on the MSC Musica - note the position at the mid-way crossing of the ship, so both sides of the ship can be seen with the couple in the middle.

The safety drill offers another classic photo opportunity, and is especially enjoyed by the newbies (the old timers tend to find it a chore):

Cruise Ships

In past years South Africa has enjoyed the services of the MSC Rhapsody, MSC Melody, MSC Opera and the MSC Sinfonia. In the season from November 2018 to April 2019 the MSC Musica has been plying our shores, and the MSC Orchestra is expected from November 2019 until April 2020.

Cruise Ports

MSC Cruises bases its ships in South Africa mostly in Durban, but there are also Cape Town cruises (less so because of the wind). Most cruises are to (in descending order) Portuguese Island, Pomene, Walvis Bay, Mauritius, Reunion, Port Elizabeth and Maputo; with repositioning cruises between Durban and Italy.
